The Score

Three-piece original rock band from Ipswich, Suffolk. We formed in August 2003 and have been giging on the local music scene since December of the same year. Since playing Ipswich Music in the Park in 2005 we have been busy recording our debut album Sooner or Later.

The three members of our band are Mark Leyland, Nick Aynsley, and Phil Flanagan.

Mark plays lead guitar and harmonica, and also sings in the band. Mark is our main songwriter and lyricist. His influences come from bands and artists such as Paul Weller, The Doors, and Muse. His passion for songwriting is matched by his excellent musical ability. Mark enjoys nothing more than playing live and gaining the reaction of others to his music. He is a natural performer and likes to lead from the front.

Nick plays bass guitar and sings backing vocals in the band. Nick has also written material for the band, some of which is featured, on the album. Nick has been involved with other local bands and music projects in the past. This experience together with his bass playing ability has helped our band progress a great deal.

Phil plays drums in the band. He also carries out a lot of promotional work on behalf of the band. He generates most of our gigs and is always striving to find new ways to expose the band. His drumming together with his additional help is an essential part of the band.

2006 looks to be a promising year for The Score. Our debut album Sooner or Later will be released in April followed by a full calendar of gigs and performances at local festivals.
