Hayze
Venture northwards from London, through the small town landscape of Essex, and eventually you'll arrive in Ipswich. "We're
between the city and the sea, a stones throw from the ocean and a £15 tank of fuel from London," says Pete Thompson,
lead singer and lyricist in the 4-piece indie-rock band Hayze. "I think our songs reflect it too, that feeling that you're
in between life, stuck on the outskirts of something".
From the agony of lost love of 'Echo Stir' and 'Make Back Time' to the full on rock and growl of 'Superstar' and 'Into
Forever (Man)', Pete Thompson (vocals/guitar), Jamie Shields (bass), Jim Newstead (drums) and Powers (guitar) have hit the
road, gigged far and wide, won friends, influenced people, struck a chord, hit the right note and generally followed the
beat of their own drum.
As Pete says, "You have to write and sing about what you know. We know about growing up in small towns, but having big
dreams."
